What is Glycolic Acid?

What is glycolic acid?
Glycolic acid falls into the set of ingredients that make up one of the five AHA's or Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which is derived from sugar cane. Having a serum, cleanser or face cream that contains glycolic acid must exceed 10% to have any real benefits to the skin. It's a great exfoliant, helps diminsh fine lines and wrinkles, brightens discoloration and age spots, and helps with acne prone skin or breakouts. It's the safest out of the five AHA's and you must be sure to use an SPF to protect your skin after use, since it removes dead skin cells, bringing the skin up to a new layer. Vivid MD's Glycolic 15% is a face cream that can be used as a mask or a moisturizer. Don't forget the back of your hands and the neckline!
